EXTRA, EXTRA!  Here's the latest news.  At the Council Level, the results of the Literature judging are in.  We are very proud of Alexander Taylor, who received an Award of Excellence for his piece "I Want to Be the Difference".  Lisa Umeh's "Noah's Gift of Greatness", received an Honorable Mention.

Mr. Taylor's piece went on to Area 14 along with Thomas Moon's musical composition "Let Me Be Your Friend" and Lauren Purser's Film/Video entry "Sharing Information".  Mr. Taylor went on to receive an Award of Participation from that round of judging.

Area 14 hosted a reception for the winners of Awards of Excellence on Jan 29 at the Special Events Center.  Both Thomas Moon and Lauren Purser received Awards of Excellence and will be moving on to state level.

Congratulations to these very creative students!

HONORABLE MENTIONS went to Audryanna Reed and Karena Taylor in Literature, Rachel Liston and Zach Smitherman in Photography, and Allison Huynh and Priya Patel in Visual Arts.

SPECIAL CONGRATULATIONS to THOMAS MOON and LAUREN PURSER.  Mr. Moon’s Musical Composition  and Ms. Purser’s Film/Video entries received AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE at the Council level, and will move on to District judging.  Courtney Dawson’s Musical composition received an Honorable Mention at Council Level.
